Tezpur, March 20: The reporters based at Tezpur have decided today to boycott election related news in protest against the alleged misbehavior with media persons by an election officer. Sources said the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Munin Sarma of the Assembly polls allegedly dragged out some local scribes from District Library conference hall when they went to cover a meeting of the election officials. The meeting was held in the presence of election officers (Zol and sector officers), officials from the police department and the general observers. The media persons following the incident have decided not to cover polls related news. ARO Sarma could not be reached for comments.
