Tezpur Tea wins award at International Tea Fair

Tezpur: Tea represents the culture and society of Assam and Tezpur Tea not only represented India but also won the title of ‘Quality Tea Brand’ at the International Tea Award held at Hong Kong recently.

While addressing a press conference on Saturday, Sebastian KV, Director of Naharbari Tea Factory under Tezpur Social Service Society (NGO) in Sonitpur district, gave details about the event in the presence of the manager of Naharbari Tea Factory, Prasanta Kumar Nath.

Sebastian said, “The Hong Kong International Tea Fair 2018 was organized by HKTDC at Hong Kong from August 16 to August 18. Archana Tea, a brand name of Naharbari Tea Factory, won the award in Black Tea (CTC) category and was runners-up in two different categories - PF and BP.” He further added, “We have 2200 farming families today who supply the tea leaves to Naharbari Tea Factory. Hence, the middleman is eliminated and the farmers are getting steady, stable and better price. Our society stands for the promotion of justice, peace and development.”
