Tezpur University among top universities of the world

Tezpur, April 7: In a rare recognition, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings has placed Tezpur University within 150 in the list of 200 top universities of the world under 50 years old.  In the sub-category ‘Generation Y’ that comprises universities established between 1986 and 1999, Tezpur University has been placed at the 34th position in the list of top 50 universities. Assessing the institutions of higher education across five broad parameters like citations, industry income, intertiol outlook, research and teaching, the global educatiol assessment body released the list of top universities on Thursday. From the northeast India, the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati and Tezpur University, both of which were established in 1994, are the only institutions that appeared in the list.  Recipient of the Visitor’s Best University award in 2016, NIRF 5th rank in 2016 and 30th in 2017, ‘A’ Grade from AC in 2016 and a number of individual and team awards at the tiol and intertiol levels, Tezpur University will be completing 25 years in January, 2018, official sources said.
