Tezpur University annual meet begins

Tezpur, Feb 24: The 20th Annual Meet of Tezpur University got underway with a colourful iugural ceremony on Thursday. Distinguished sports persolity, Dr Subhas Basumatary, Director, Sports Authority of India, Guwahati graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event started with lighting of the Olympic Torch, followed by flag hoisting and university song. The major attraction of the first day’s event was march past competition, followed by a host of other sports activities and cultural events. The programme on second day today began with a cultural procession and concluded with cultural night. The annual meet will conclude on February 26. The four-day event would include various sports and literary competitions and cultural shows, official sources said.
