The event also concluded the year-long silver jubilee celebration of the university. The event went underway with the hoisting of the university flag by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Vinod Kumar Jain. Drawing references from various case studies, he was careful in drawing attention to cases of malpractice in scientific research and ethical concerns in scientific progress. He also reiterated the need to emphasize social sciences and opined that only science did not possess the answers to all questions, especially ethical dilemmas with reference to the use of the technology.
