Tezpur varsity team wins debate contest

TEZPUR, March 13:  Lokabandhu Dr Bhubaneswar Barooah memorial all-Assam inter-college debating competition was held in the auditorium of the Govt Ayurvedic College here today. The topic of the debate was ‘There is no altertive to a regiol political party for all-round regiol development’.  Momi Bhuyan of the Assam Engineering College was adjudged as the best debater; Daniel waz Mazumder of the Gauhati Medical College won the second prize, while the third prize was bagged by Ritupar Borpatra Gohain of the Govt Ayurvedic College.  The award for the best team went to Tezpur University, while Cotton College State University was adjudged as the second best. Prof Dilip Kr Barua was the Speaker while Diganta Biswa Sarma, Dr Prati Devi, Prab Kr th and Dr Kavita Jain were the judges. Principal of the Govt Ayurvedic College Dr Bhabesh Das, Dr Lakshman S, Director of AYUSH, Assam and Jatin Hazarika, Advisor to the State Government also spoke on the occasion.
