Tezpur witnesses festive atmosphere this winter

Tezpur, Jan 8: With the advent of New Year, a large number of people converge at various picnic spots in and around Tezpur town, turning the place into a mega festival venue. However, in comparison to previous years, this year the number of people visiting Tezpur for picnic has amplified. Tezpur, is well known as the cultural capital of Assam and for its tural beauty and mythological background. As a city of romance it has always been attracting people. But during this season, around 300 picnickers from various places of the district visited the town , creating a festive-like atmosphere. Places like Koliabhumura, Ganeshghat, Devishing Ghat, Rudrapath, Gordoul, Chapori, Jahajghat, Beltika, Kalibari and Bamunipahar have turned into picnic spots where people of different ages enjoyed the first day of the year. Moreover, various temples here like Mahbhairab, Bhairabi Mandir, Ketekeswar, Satsang Vihar, Shani Temple, Ganesh Temple, Hanuman Temple near Maithan and some important places like Agnigarh Hill (Park), Bhupen Hazarika Kola Bhumi and Samadhisthol also witnessed impressive footfalls during the New Year. People who visit the town return home with unmatched glimpses of beauty.
