Tezu residents suffer as potholes litter highway

Itagar, June 15: The denizens in Tezu Township are undergoing through utter desperation following the worst road condition.

PWD link road which was build for limited vehicular movement unfortutely converted to a highway leading to serious potholes ridden road and is causing immense hardship and inconvenient to the citizens. Even pedestrians are finding awkward to walk, a press release said here today. “The roads were virtually in better condition earlier but after they were converted to highways where number of big trucks including dumpers, JCBs and loaded trucks every now and then plies deteriorating the road from bad to worst. The department has to improve the road for the comfortable drive to bring relief to the commuters”, rued a citizen.

It is pertinent to mention here that after widening works carried out in the main highway under Trans Aruchal Highway, all vehicles are diverted to link road via minister and civil supply colonies for smooth and hassle free works at the sites.

The 1446 BCC Dimbe on enquiry informed that the bridge construction work near district hospital might take minimum 4 months till then the public have to bear the inconvenience.

Earlier, local MLA Dr Mohesh Chai requested the 48 BRTF to built temporary suspension bridge for two wheeler and commuters near the district hospital but regrettably the BRTF has build up a bamboo makeshift bridge causing repeated accidents.

Meanwhile, the public of the township have appealed the BRTF officials to build a steel bridge to avoid repeated accidents at the site, the release added.
