Thakur Anukul Chandra's birth anniversary celebrated

GAURIPUR, Sept 20: The 128th birth anniversary of Shree Shree Thakur Anukul Chandra was observed on the premises of Gauripur Satsang Vihar on September 16 last with a day-long programme.

The programme began early in the morning with the chanting of hymns by the devotees there, after all the rituals related to the tithi of Thakur were also observed with devotion.

The mothers’ session of the programme was presided over by Sandha Lahiri and was addressed by Renuka Barman and Gita Singha Konwar and a few others. A religious discourse on the topic ‘teachings of Thakur Anukul Chandra in solving the present day problems’ was held and Gautam Brahma, Ajoy Singha, Bireswar Ganguli and a few invitees took part. Sachindra th Chakrabarty, secretary of the celebration committee offered the vote of thanks.

A cultural show held in the evening was marked by the presentation of devotiol songs. Debajani Shil, an uprising singer of the district enthralled the audience with her melodious devotiolsongs.
