Thakur Bari to celebrate 106th Durga Puja

DEMOW, Sept 24: With just three days left for the Durga Puja, preparation is going on in full swing in Demow. The decoration of the pandals is going and there will be six pandals in Demow Chariali. The Thakur Bari Puja in Demow Nitai Road will hold its 106th Durga Puja this year. Dadan Dubey, the priest who does the puja, said that the Puja was started by his father Sital Dubey. This was the first Durga Puja in Demow Chariali, he added.  Every year, the idols are made by Ganesh Paul, a resident of Sepon whose idols are sent not only to Demow but also to various places. Durga Puja will start from Tuesday on Bel Baran and on that day the idols will be brought to the pandals.
