Thangkhiew clan seeks clarification from Asirshon

SHILLONG, August 18: In a meeting which took place on August 13, 2015 the Thangkhiew Clan (Lai Kpoh) has unimously decided to demand that Asirshon Thangkhiew should produce the detail reports pertaining to the land compensation NEHU, 1997.

“We have also decided that he (Asirshon Thangkhiew) should clarify on the issue of felling of trees from Wah Pomdngien and the decision he took to try and sell the land without the knowledge and consent of the Clan Dorbar,” President of the clan Livingstone Thangkhiew told media person here on Tuesday. He informed that during the meeting they have also demanded that Asirshon should return all the documents and seals which belong to the Thangkhiew Clan Dorbar. Livingstone stated that the Clan is still waiting for the fil detailed report from the Forest Range Officer regarding the felling of trees by Asirshon from Wah Pomdngiem which is due to be finished within this month.

He added, “The clan will soon file a crimil case against him if he fails to produce the detail accounts relating to the land compensation NEHU, 1997 amounting to more than Rs 1.87 crores.” Livingstone further informed that the Clan has also demanded that Asirshon should clarify before the Clan Dorbar as to why he is still claiming to be the Clan Elder since he has been removed right from 2012. “The Dorbar clan has also re-confirmed the removal of Asirshon as an elder clan member on the meeting held on August 13, 2015,” he said while also adding that all works related to the Clan Dorbar Thangkhiew (Lai Kpoh) has been handed to the Executive Committee of the clan.
