The Senior Citizen Forum Took Out Protest Rally Against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill

GAURISAGAR: The Senior Citizen Forum, Charing in Sivasagar district took out a protest rally against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 at Charing. The rally started from Grom Benubon, the office of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX), Charing branch. A good number of octogenarians took part in the protest. Later a protest meeting was held where social worker Srimanta Dutta strongly criticized the Chief Minister for his silence in this critical moment. “He has transformed from a hero to villain,” said Dutta.

Noted educationist Tuwaram Khanikor urged the people to fight unitedly against the Bill and added that in this critical juncture of the State, the Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad (SKAP) had passed a good message that service was not greater than the country.

Meanwhile, the Oikya Sena Asom, Jhanji regional committee, on Friday evening took out a torchlight rally against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 at Jhanji. The activists started the rally from Jhanji Churamoni Muktab LP School.
