The stories of Sangmas & Dhars

SHILLONG, March 3: Mukul Sangma, his wife Dikanshi D Shira and his brother Zenith Sangma made it once again to the State Assembly on a Congress ticket but the Dhar family failed in one constituency. Ngaitlang Dhar, Sniawbhalalang Dhar, Dasakhiat and Wailadmiki (all immediate kin) contested from four different constituencies on an NPP ticket.
Ngaitlang Dhar who is the richest candidate to have contested the State elections received a drubbing in Umroi constituency. His brother Sniawbhalang Dhar made it from rtiang, his son could scrape through from Mawhati and also brother in-law Wailadmiki Shylla from Jowai.
The two siblings and offsprings of late Purno sangma – James K Sangma and Agatha K Sangma respectively won from Dadengre and Tura constituency on the NPP ticket.
