There is no reason to resign: United coach van Gaal

Manchester, Dec 29: Manchester United head coach Louis van Gaal on Tuesday said he would not quit even though his side has failed to win their last eight contests across all competitions. On Monday, United played out a goalless draw against Chelsea at home. The Red Devils are now sixth on the points table a point adrift of Crystal Palace who are a rung above in the English Premier League (EPL). Earlier, van Gaal's men also failed to enter the pre-quarterfils of the European Champions League. "When the players give such a performance with a lot of pressure, there's no reason to resign," van Gaal was quoted. The Dutchman has had a few rough days recently. He walked out of a press conference some days back after criticising the media for speculating about his position. IANS
