Third Singpho Youth Conference concludes in Bordumsa

BORDUMSA July 18:  A five-day long conference of the 3rd Singpho Youth Organisation (SYO) concluded here in a befitting manner on Tuesday at the Singpho Heritage Center at Bordumsa in Changlang District of Aruchal Pradesh.
The conference which kicked off on  July 14th was iugurated by CC Singpho the former Congress Cabinet Minister of Aruchal Pradesh amidst significant gathering, including the members and office bearers of the SYO, the local Singpho leaders and  Singpho delegates from Assam and Aruchal.
Meanwhile, the general proceeding was presided over by Ongla Umbon the former president of the SYO on its concluding day, where a full-fledged committee comprising more than fifty members and office bearers was re-constituted unimously to steer the organization.
Thing Nong Umbu the former Secretary of SYO and Singwa Insa were voted in to adorn the seat of President and General Secretary   of the SYO respectively while Mainong Singpho was elected as the Fince Secretary.
 Among the dignitaries to attend the general conference on Tuesday included Wong Kiyang the Deputy Commandent BSF, Sindu Nong Singpho the Chairperson Bordumsa Anchal Samity, among others.
The dignitaries reiterated on the formation, objectives, roles and achievements of the SYO since its inception. According to them, the organization must remain equally instrumental in guiding the community, promoting unity and fraternity and educating its people on socio-cultural, political, educatiol and economic aspects.
According to the organizing Committee, the most important part of thethe five- day conference has been the culture-career and schooling and education based counseling programme that was conducted by various resource persons who enlightened the youths with their words of wisdom. 
Meanwhile, Pin Kitl Muklom Singpho the Advisor of the Maio unit of Aruchal Pradesh Women Association and Koing Samon Umbon Headmistress of the Government Secondary School Gidding threw ample lights on the ways and means to preserve, promote and protect the Singpho culture and their rich traditions. 
A mini marathon race was also organized here in the morning with the theme’ Go Green’. A programme to showcase the arms and ammunitions was presented by the 23 Punjab Regiment of Indian Army.
The formation of the new executive committee will ensure that the organisation sets new dimension to work for the community and society at large.
