Itagar, Nov 11: Aruchal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker T Norbu Thongdok on Thursday called upon the people to demonstrate the ‘Team Aruchal’ spirit in true sense for overall development of the state. Iugurating the five-day Nyethrii-dow festival of the Aka (Hrusso) community at Buragaon in West Kameng district amidst a huge gathering, Thongdok said that the people-friendly government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is committed to resolve all issues of the people and accordingly adopted zero tolerance in health and education sectors.
He gave a clarion call to the people to support the endeavour of the government for progress and prosperity of the state, a communiqué informed.
Thongdok appreciated local MLA Kumsi Sidisow for his untiring efforts to develop the Thrizino assembly constituency and said that development in the area was getting momentum with the coming up of a mini township which he had witnessed.
The Speaker who was deputed by Khandu to attend the function said that the State had witnessed political upheaval in the recent past and the present PPA-led NEDA government had created a good rapport with the Centre and accordingly the State would witness a sea change in the days to come.
Responding to three memorandums submitted on the occasion, the Speaker said that he would provide one crore for infrastructure development of the Secondary school and would discuss with the government for development of health centre and establishment of a pig farm. He, however, urged the villagers to provide a suitable land for the proposed pig breeding farm.
He also assured to provide five lakh to St Xavier school from his end soon, the communiqué added.
