Thousands attend Christmas Carol

SHILLONG, Dec 12: People from all walks of life and from different religious background today attended the Christmas Carol Service organized by the General Assembly, Presbyterian Church of India (PCI) at 2nd Polo Ground, Shillong.

Speaking on the occasion Governor of Meghalaya, V. said that Christmas is celebrated not only by Christian but by all people and is celebrated because Jesus Christ came into the world as a son of man to seek and save the lost. He also said that the ‘Christmas Carol Service’ is a very good way of bringing people closer to God and also to spread the message of love, peace and harmony which is very important.

“Lord Jesus Christ is a mark of humbleness and he came into this world not only for you and me but for all the people in the world” the Governor said adding that all should rejoice and celebrate Christmas with love. Others who attended the programme  were Deputy Chief Minister Rowell Lyngdoh, Home minister , Roshan Warjri, Health Minister , A.L. Hek, Deputy CEM KHADC, P.T. Sawkmie, members of the Synjuk ki Nongsynshar Shnong ka Bri u Hynñiewtrep, members of the  Seng Khasi, Seng Raid, Central Puja Committee, beside others. Song performances by many groups and individuals and also games and gifts items for kids mark the day.
