Thousands take to street to celebrate AGP's victory in harkatia

mrup, May 20: With the declaration of election result, festive atmosphere prevailed at the 120 harkatia LAC with the jubilant party workers and supporters of AGP candidate Noren Sonowal (Botali), who bagged the seat by defeating Congress candidate Prati Phukan by a margin of 3531 votes, breaking the 15 years old congress bastion from here, come out to celebrate on the street. AGP candidate Noren Sonowal got 46051 votes while Congress candidate Prati Phukan bagged 42520 votes. Being enthralled by the landslide victory of Noren Sonowal , the jubilant party workers, alliance supporters celebrated the occasion in various important places of the constituency—harkatia , Joypur, mrup, Sasoni, & other places. Arrangement of feast, distribution of sweets, victory procession, bihu dance & other merrymaking are still apparent in & around the constituency. The people welcomed Sonowal with all enthusiasm as soon as he paid his visit to different places of the constituency fooling his victory.
