Three arrested for machine theft

DEMOW, June 18: The Demow Police on Saturday night arrested three thieves from Borhapjan under Doomdooma Police Station of Tinsukia district regarding the theft of Reliance 4G machine worth of Rs 18 lakh.  According to sources, Ramen Halder and Gauranga Haldar, both residents of Sagar Colony of West Bengal, Murshidabad district, along with Ajay Gogoi, driver and a resident of Demow Rangragiya, were involved in the theft of Reliance 4G machine worth Rs.18 lakh. They were arrested from Doomdooma. On the other hand, Mash Mandal, a resident of Kolkata and the mastermind of the theft, is absconding.

From the last few days in Demow, Moran and Sivasagar, Destiny System and Solution Private Company Engineers, which has been appointed by Reliance Telecom, was doing underground cable work for 4G service. For this work, a machine worth Rs 18 lakh which was used to check the sigl of Digi Track Company, was missing from Demow Camp. After the machine was missing from the truck (AS 01 W 9427), it was suspected that Ajay Gogoi, driver of the truck, was involved in the incident.

On Saturday, on behalf of the Engineers Group, Manuranjan Gogoi and Girin Gogoi lodged an FIR in Demow Police Station. Under the leadership of Moni Mohan Singh, OC of Demow Police Station, with Anup Gayan, investigating officer, Ajay Gogoi arrested. Based on his confession,  Demow Police with the help of Doomdooma  Police arrested the other two. All three were produced before the court on Sunday.
