Three arrested for public indecency

SHILLONG, Aug 19: The Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills M Kharkrang today informed that three people have been arrested in connection with two separate cases of creating nuisance under the influence of alcohol in public places. Kharkhrang informed that the two incidents took place in Rilbong and Police Bazaar respectively on August 17 and August 15. The three accused persons have been identified as Wendy Nongrum, Piki Verma and Gunjan Sharma. The Court of Judicial Magistrate 1stClass, Shillong has imposed a fine of Rs.5, 000 each and in default of payment of fine amount the accused persons will have to undergo a simple imprisonment of two months.
