Three cops of Darrang to receive DGP's commendation letter

MANGALDAI, Oct 2: Cross section of the society here in Darrang district have appreciated the Assam Police for conferring the gold medal with DGP’s commendation letter to three worthy cops of Darrang district.  The Assam Police on the ‘Assam Police Day’ on October 1 had announced to offer due honour to the worthy officer and the constables of Darrang district. The cops selected for the prestigious award are Officer in-Charge of Dhula Police Station Sub Inspector, Ranjit Hazarika, constable driver Bhakta Teron and constable Birendra Bora of Dhula Police Station.
Sub Inspector Ranjit Hazarika till date has recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition, including AK-56 from the organized armed gang of poachers and also arrested a good number of poachers. Similarly, he also successfully arrested several hardcore notorious crimils involved in murder, robbery and other anti-social activities. Sub Inspector Ranjit Hazarika has been awarded the DGP’s commendation with Gold Medal while driver constable Bhakta Teron and constable Birendra Bora have been nomited for the DGP’s commendation with silver award. Announcing this on Assam Police Day at the police reserve here in Mangaldai, Superintendent of Police Sreejith Thiraviam congratulated all the three cops and appealed to all the ‘men in khaki’ in the district to take strict action against law violators.
