Three cyber hackers bbed by Chirang Police

Bongaigaon, Sept 8: Chirang district police bbed three cyber hackers on Wednesday night following investigation. The hackers allegedly stole Rs 9 lakh from an retired employee of Bongaigaon Refinery by cyber hacking. Talking to media persons Sankar Brata Rai Medhi, Chirang Superintendent of Police, said that with reference to Dhaligaon P.S.Case No:-226/16 U/S- 380/ 406/420 IPC(misappropriation of Rs 9 lakh from retired employee of Bongaingaon Refinery through online cyber fraud) two simultaneous raids were conducted on Wednesday.

 “One in Joleswar under Lakhipur  PS, Goalpara and the other in Dhubri. Three persons, mely  Eliasur Rahman Babor (24), Md.Anisur Rahman (28) and  Md.Ziyaur Rahman (26) were apprehended . All three are sons of Abdul Kader Miah, resident of  Bidyapara Part-II of West BN College Road under Dhubri PS. From their possession one Apple MacBook pro, model-A1502, silver colour), one ASUS laptop, one Apple iPhone and six other mobile phones have been recovered. During prelimiry investigation it has come to light that all three are brothers and self-taught cyber hackers and have been duping other clients in other districts of lower Assam. The cyber team under ASP HQ are thoroughly interrogating the accused. Other districts may check as the accused have confessed about duping unsuspecting simpletons too,” he said.
