Three-day celebration of Sahidi Divas underway

DHUBRI, Nov 24:  The three-day celebration of the 342nd Sahidi Divas of  Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji, the ninth Guru of Sikh religion, got underway under the auspices of Sikh Pratidhi Board, Eastern Zone (SPBEZ)  from Friday. A board source informed that as part of the three-day programme, Akhand path began from today which will end with Akhand Bhog on November 26 while Kirtan Dewan will  be held for all the three days.

“Ragi, Dhadi and Pracharak from Punjab will be taking part in Kirtan Dewan. Moreover, Guru Ka Langar will be served in the Gurudwara premises all the three days,” Secretary of SPBEZ, Sradar Kulwant Singh informed The Sentinel. Singh also informed  that gar Kirtan (procession in the town) would be taken out on November 25, where nearly 10,000 sikh devotees from various parts of country and abroad are expected to join the procession and take part in the celebration. While appealing all section of people to extend cooperation to make this celebration a grand success Singh said SBEZ had made an elaborate arrangement for accommodation of devotees and sangats in Gurudwara premises and else where in the town. All hotels, dharmasala and community halls of the town are reportedly swamped by the devotees.
