Three-day Rongali Bihu Sanmilan in mrup from May 5

mrup, April 21; mrup is geared up to celebrate Rajahuwa Rongali Bihu Sanmilan at the Sargari Bihu Mandap premises here with three day long programme from May 5 to May 7.

To make the celebration a grand success, the mrup Udyug gari Rajahuwa Rongali Bihu Sanmilan Udjapan Committee has been formed with Tileswar Bora as president, Suren Gogoi, Bhabakanta Gogoi, Arun Phukan as acting president and Dinesh Sonowal as general secretary along with nine sub-committees.

The first day’s programme will start with the hoisting of the Bihu Sanmilan flag by the president of organizing committee which will be followed by swahid tarpan. A grand colorful cultural procession will be brought out to mark the occasion. After that various programmes will be held. The first day’s programme will be rounded off with husori, mukoli bihu and jeng bihu competition.

The second day’s programme will include cleanliness and plantation drive, which will be followed by different competitions.  An open session-cum-prize distribution ceremony will be held. The second day’s programme will end with a glittering cultural night by the local artistes.

Besides other programmes, the main attraction of the concluding day will be the grand cultural night which will witness the mesmerizing performance of Angarag Mahanta (Papon).
