Three held with rcotics

 SILCHAR, July 23: Acting on a tip off provided by BSF intelligence wing, a special operation was conducted by a team of station headquarters BSF, Masimpur, in general area of Bhanga Bazar in Karimganj district around 2:30 pm on July 20. During this operation, two persons identified as Abdul Hann Laskar (50) resident of Madhurbond of this town and Md Abdul Sattar (44) resident of Badarpur town were apprehended along with 1000 Methamphetamine tablets. The value of these contraband tablets in the market amounted to Rs.2.5 lakh.  In yet another joint operation by troops of station headquarters BSF Aizawl and special rcotic cell on the same day in the afternoon in the area of Edentharbelow Company Veng in the district of Aizawl, Mizoram, one Indian tiol identified as Siamlia (43) resident Tuivamit, North, Aizawl, was apprehended along with 46.11 grams of heroin value at Rs.1.35 lakh in intertiol market. BSF spokesperson, Satish Budakoti, Deputy Inspector General, Frontier Headquarter BSF Mizoram and Cachar, informed that the seized drugs were brought from Myanmar for local consumption. The apprehended persons along with seized contraband goods were handed over to police stations concerned for initiating legal course of action against the accused in consistent with the provisions of law.
