Three injured as mini truck plunges into river

Itagar, Nov 2: Three people sustained injuries when the mini truck they were travelling in plunged into a river in Kra Daadi district on Tuesday evening. According to police sources, the truck reportedly plunged into Torung River between Rongtey Ritey Village and Chambang town after the dilapidated log bridge that connects Palin and Chambang CD block in the district, collapsed. The incident happened when the ill-fated truck carrying few bags of cements and three people including the driver were crossing the log bridge. Sources from Palin informed that two persons identified as Charu Yagung, Charu Yaying and the driver, were reportedly injured. They were later brought to Palin hospital. The log bridge was the only means of communication in the said road and over the years the vehicles were plying over poorly maintained log bridge.
