Three killed in road mishap

SHILLONG, March 14: Three people were killed in the early hours on Tuesday morning when an oil tanker bound for Jaintia Hills exploded at Pyllun village under Umiam Police station in Ri Bhoi district. According to sources, the driver of the oil tanker allegedly lost control of the truck resulting in the vehicle to overturn. However the victims are yet to be identified. In wake of the accident the tanker bearing the registration number MN05-T-0770 was completely damaged in the incident.  Meanwhile, Ribhoi district police said that the cause of the accident might have been over speeding by the driver who lost control.
