Three killed in road mishap

Bokajan, February 12: Three persons were killed while others received serious injuries in an accident that occurred on NH 39 at Silonijan under Barpathar police station here.

Sources said the accident took place when an Alto car bearing registration number AS 05G 1432, which was on its way towards Golaghat from Sarupathar, suddenly rammed into a roadside tree amidst mbor Reserve Forest on Thursday evening. Three persons, identified as Probin Boraik of Bokakhat, Pintu Thakuria of Khumtai and Bisom Basumatary of Titabor died on the spot while the driver Dulu Bora of Doigrung was immediately rushed to Civil Hospital, Golaghat in a critical condition.

All four are said to be govt. employees deputed for the ongoing NRC updation process.
