Three more candidates submit nomitions for Kokrajhar East LAC

 KOKRAJHAR, March 21: Three more candidates submitted their nomition papers for 30-Kokrajhar East (ST) constituency on Monday. The number of candidates for 30-Kokrajhar east has risen to four till today.

Candidate of United People’s Party (UPP), Pratibha Brahma submitted her nomition papers for the constituency. She led a large rally of supporters. The rally started from the office of the All Kokrajhar Anchalik committee, ABSU, and moved towards the DC office via Jwhwlao Dwimalu Road. The supporters seemed excited to have a strong woman candidate. UPP candidates UG Brahma and Somth rzary also filed nomition papers on Monday at Gossaigaon SDO (C) office. They were accompanied by thousands of supporters.

Besides, Ma Borgoyary from AIUDF and Prasanta Kr. Medhi from Jonogostiya Aikya Manch also submitted their nomition papers for 30-Kokrajhar east (ST) constituency.

Talking to reporters, UPP candidate Pratibha Brahma, who is seen as the strongest candidate to challenge sitting MLA Pramila Rani Brahma, said that the people of the region wanted a change. The sitting MLA had been representing the 30-Kokrajhar east since 1991 but in the last 25 years, she had failed to address many issues, including women issues, said the UPP candidate. She added that she would concentrate on the issues of youth and women. She also said that people had come out in her support with a desire for change.
