Three murder accused bbed in Raha

GAON (HAIBORGAON), September 14: In connection with a recent gruesome murder case at Besapati village in Morigaon- gaon border area, Raha police led by officer-in-charge Goutom Kumar on Monday night apprehended three miscreants from Torabari village along Morigaon- gaon border area under Raha police station.

According to the sources, the bbed miscreants have been identified as Gunendra Patar, ren Patar and Dhanta Patar of Torabari village and out of these three, Gunendra Patar was the prime accused. The sources added further that the prime accused Gunendra Patar had already admitted as that he had killed one Rangmai Devi and her daughter Rakha Devi with a heavy hammer and also injured another daughter Kabita Devi, who is still undergoing treatment in GMCH and is in a critical condition, on September 10.

In a press conference held at gaon Sadar police station, DIG central zone, Akhilesh Sing Yadav stated that the prime accused Gunendra Patar in his statement said that he himself had killed Rangmai Devi (44) and her daughter Rekha Devi (11) with a heavy hammer and also tried to kill another daughter Kabita Devi who luckily survived with severe injuries. In his statement Gunendra Patar also stated that he borrowed money amounting to Rs 30,000 with interest from the deceased Rangmai Devi and Rs 15,000 was returned to her the previous day of the incident. On the day of the incident, at around 11.30 pm, Gunendra Patar along with his two followers went to her residence and planned to take back the paid amount from her after killing all the members of the family. Interestingly, Raha police on the very next day of the gruesome incident registered a case no 257/16 under 120B/446/326/307/302 IPC and started investigation.

Police soon arrested the prime accused and the two co-accused. On the other hand, soon after the news of the arrest of the prime accused spread, an irate mob went on a rampage and set the house of Guneswar Patar on fire. The mob demanded capital punishment for all the accused.
