Three persons arrested for smuggling rhino horn

KAZIRANGA, Jan 12: Three persons were arrested with rhino horn at Kaziranga on Thursday. The DFO said that on the basis of information, a joint operation of forest and police department was launched at Bokakhat, Heujpar village of Kaziranga and three persons, mely Sujit Bhuyan, a teacher by profession and also district member of AGP Golaghat, Parimal Bhatta, BJP member, and Ritul Dutta of Bokakhat were arrested for smuggling rhino horn at Kaziranga.  At first the operation was lodged at Sujit Bhuyan’s residence and a rhino horn was found. As per the statement of Bhuyan, the department later arrested Parimal Bhatta and Ritul Dutta of Bokakhat area. Now the forest department is interrogating them for further action.
