Three plays to be staged on November 5

Silchar, Oct 29: Church Road Mahila Samiti, a non profit socio cultural organization run by a group of working professiols and homemakers, holds the record for organizing some out of the box events. They have been associated with a number of social and Samaritan works that include health camps, eye camps, free distribution of books and clothes among the poor and needy and blood dotion camps.

Church Road Mahila Samiti is the first organization that conducted women’s blood dotion camp. The medicines that were left after the health camps were also given to Ramakrish Mission, Silchar. The organization was formed on January 26, 2009 and since then there has been no looking back for it. The organization has doted water filters to various schools and blankets to various schools and societies. This year, the members of the organization decided to do something else. Therefore, on November 5,  a ‘tyasandhya’, an evening dedicated to plays, has been organized. Three plays, directed by Debarati Chanda of Church Road Mahila Samiti, Shekhar Debroy of Silchar Cultural Unit and Santanu Paul of Bhabikal Theatre Group, will be staged at Banga Bhawan of this town from 5.30 pm onwards. This information was shared at a press-meet held at the premises of the office of the organization on Sunday.
