DIGBOI, February 21: The Paresh Baruah-led ULFA faction was served a severe blow following the arrest of three hardcore ULFA linkmen by security forces in Tinsukia on Friday evening.

The linkmen have been identified as Bitupon Moran (25), son of Bileswar Moran of Borguri, Nibir Umesh Moran (28), son of Moneswar Moran of Amguri in Philobari and Lu Bhaskor Borah, son of Gopen Borah of Tongo Bazar, all belonging to Tinsukia district. They were arrested by Tinsukia police with the help of CRPF and local army unit 7 Madras during an operation.

According to sources, the arrested persons were involved in extortion activities in various pockets of the district and had extended support to the outlawed ULFA outfit in carrying out sabotage and other forms of anti-people and crimil activities to establish their rule of terror among the common people.

Meanwhile, talking to The Sentinel, And Prakash Tiwari, Tinsukia SP, said that the linkmen had recently gone to Moon district in galand near the Myanmar border to handover illegally procured booty to Arunoday Dohotia alias Bijit Gogoi. Tiwari once again urged the ULFA cadres to shun the path of violence and join the mainstream and make use of their potentiality in right ways.
