Three UPLA cadres arrested

 Dibrugarh, May 3: Acting on specific inputs , the Army  and Moran Police launched a  joint operation  at village Khelmatigaon on Wednesday and arrested 3 UPLA cadres including one female militants. The arrested militants have been identified as Bijoy Engti, 32, S/O Late Deben Engti of Upper Deopani, Karbi Anglong, Kangru Teronpi, 19 S/O Late Longki Teron, Karbi Anglong, Longri Teron, 25, S/O Borsing Teron , Karbi Anglong.

The joint team also recovered one 0.22mm pistol, 10 rounds live rounds, 1 magazine,  one 7.62mm pistol, 3 live rounds and 1 magazine from their possession.

During prelimiry interrogation, the apprehended militant cadres confessed that at the time of their apprehension they abandoned their base camp in Karbi Anglong district due to some dispute with other cadres and were seeking refuge in tea garden/ jungle in adjoining area Khelmatigaon for few days till the situation back in their camp was conducive for their return. After interrogation individuals have been handed over to Moran Police Station. A case in this regard has been registered.
