ITANAGAR, July 20: The issue of Tibetan refugee is once again in limelight as the Operation Clean Drive (OCD) Chairman, West Kameng district Steven Jebel Sichisow alleged one Lobsang Dharjee of procuring both ST as well PRC in the district despite being a refugee from Tibet. “Out of 15 names submitted, one Lobsang Dharjee has been found availing the benefit and rest 14 are under the scanner, Sichisow told the reporters here at the Press Club on Friday.” He said that it has been known through the district administration with authentic documents that Lobsang Dharjee is a Tibetan and that likewise many others may also fit in that group. OCD has asked the district administration to come out with verification of documents by the 24th of this month on scrutiny of the authentication of those refugees availing dual status in the state. On negligence towards the issue, the union has threatened to go for a democratic agitation. He also cleared that the district union and OCD had never said the slogan of “Tibetan Refugee Go Back”. We want them to stay but abiding by the law framed by the State Government.
