Timely action by Assam Rifles jawans saves life

Silchar, Nov 10: Prompt, immediate and quick action taken by Assam Rifles personnel saved an area of Jirighat from being severely damaged from a fire that broke out at a shop on Wednesday at 1 am. Upon receiving the information, a team of 15 jawans of Assam Rifles led by Major Nitin rushed to the spot and stopped the fire from spreading. Jirighat police was also informed simultaneously. With all the efforts, the fire was put off with fire extinguishers by 2.30 am. The owner of the shop is Sanjeev Sutradhar. Local residents and shop owner expressed their gratitude towards the jawans for taking prompt action and thus saved lives and properties.
