Tinsukia administration faces flak for delay in issue of jourlist card

From our Correspondent
TINSUKIA, July 13: Two senior jourlists who are the members of accreditation committee constituted by the Tinsukia district administration to filize the list of reporters for accreditation, have been allegedly harassed by the administration by not holding such an important meeting on time and were made to wait for hours together outside the DC’s chamber on Wednesday. The two aggrieved jourlists, Himen Bhattacharyya and Amulya Khatoniar, both former presidents of Tinsukia District Jourlist’s Association, left the venue after expressing their resentment. The reporters of Tinsukia had submitted their applications for accreditation several months back to DIPRO Tinsukia but due to the alleged lackadaisical attitude of DIPR Hem Chandra Pathak, the meeting had been delayed. The much-awaited meeting was convened by Deputy Commissioner Puru Gupta at his chamber but according to the DIPRO, the DC was engaged in the chamber otherwise. Then the pertinent question is why the DIPRO/DC convened a meeting which was inconvenient to others?
