Tinsukia bandh lifted

MARGHERITA, July 7: The 12-hour Tinsukia district strike on 8 July called by All Assam Sonowal Kachari Student Union has been lifted after a discussion with Tinsukia district administration on Thursday. The strike was called in protest against the appointment system of TET qualified teachers on June 27 where not a single ST (Plains) candidate of Tinsukia district was given appointment at Tinsukia district.
