Tinsukia College observes Librarians' Day

TINSUKIA, Aug 12: The Librarians’ Day was observed at Tinsukia College on Saturday with day-long activities to commemorate 125th birth anniversary of Dr SR Rangathan, the father of Library Sciences in India.
Addressing as guest speaker in the gathering of students, teachers and library staff, Dr Sadanda th, librarian, Tinsukia Commerce College said that library should be user friendly. With the advent of internet, online information access has become popular and attractive among library users, said Dr th. He dwelt at length on Open Access Information. Dr Pallabi Gogoi, librarian, Tinsukia College, while laying the objective of programme presented a brief profile of Dr SR Rangathan. Dr Bhuban Gogoi, Principal of Tinsukia College, said never before the Librarians’ Day was observed in the college and appreciated Dr Pallabi Gogoi for organizing such an event.
