Tinsukia scribes' body meet concludes

DOOMDOOMA, April 10:  The 19th biennial conference of Tinsukia District Jourlists Association (TDJA) which began at Digboi on April 7 under the aegis of Digboi Press Club (DPC), concluded on April 9.

The conference got under way with iuguration of a book fair by ADC Prab Kumar Bora which was followed by different competitions like recitation, extempore speech, and drawing. Ashok Sharma, member, Tinsukia Zila Parishad was iugurator of these competitions. On April 8, a poets’ meet entitled Baxantar Umal Paraxat Kabitar Abeli was held with Punya Saikia, litterateur, as coorditor. Ramen Hazarika, Assistant Professor, Assamese Department, Margherita College and Dipen Kumar Bora, president, Digboi Sewa Samity, attended the function as guest of honours. The concluding day’s programme began with hoisting of TDJA flag by president of TDJA, Anuj Kalita, and Digboi Press Club flag by Ramani Buragohain, president of Digboi Press Club.
