tiol Book Trust to organize Shillong Book Fair

Shillong, June 6: The tiol Book Trust, India (NBT), an apex body under Ministry of Human Resource Development, is organizing the Shillong Book Fair at State Central Library, Shillong from June 8 to 16 in collaboration with the Directorate of Art & Culture of Meghalaya Government, District Administration, Shillong and St. Edmund's College, Shillong (Meghalaya). The Book Fair will be iugurated by V. Shanmugathan, Governor of Meghalaya, on June 8 at State Central Library, Shillong and Baldeo Bhai Sharma, Chairman, NBT, will be presiding over the iugural function. More than 40 publishers/booksellers from all over India would be participating in the Fair. Spread over 80 stalls, the Book Fair will have books for all age-groups, on a wide range of subjects in English, Hindi, Khasi and other Indian languages. Besides the exhibition/sale of books, the Book Fair will showcase a range of cultural events and literary programmes for promotion of reading habit, which will include semirs, panel discussions, poetry reading, etc. In addition, activities and competitions for children have also been planned.
