tiol Cleanliness Campaign kicked off at Digboi

DIGBOI, October 2: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched a year ago on October 2 last year  all over India. IOCL(AOD) had also launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) with a pledge to keep Digboi Township clean and create awareness. Continuing with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan IOCL(AOD) launched the tiol Cleanliness Campaign with a Cleanliness Drive in association with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) here this morning at various locations of Digboi Oil town in Tunsukia District.  

The  drive was formally launched at IOCL Market on the auspicious day of Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Sashtri’s Birth Anniversary by H L Arya GM(HSE) & Rajeev Kalita, GM(HR) in presence of  J. Borgohain DGM (HSE), A. K. th, CM (A&W), AC CISF and other officials.

The cleanliness drive started off from the IOCL Market through the Swahid Bedi Tili and continued up to Charali market.

Around 50 CISF personnel along with several IOCL(AOD) personnel participated in the noble drive. Leaflets with DOs & DONTs were distributed along the road to the public.  

Another initiative undertaken to mark the significant day was an Art Competition organised for school students in association with the Rotary Club of Digboi. The Competition was organized at the Paragdhar Chaliha Auditorium to create awareness among children on the need for cleanliness. Around 265 enthusiastic school students participated in the Art Competition on the theme “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”. The Executive Committee of Rotary Club was in attendance including their President Shri Bhaskar Chaudhri, Shri Alok Chakraborty, J. Borgohain, A. K Goswami. During the competition Rajeev Kalita GM(HR) interacted with the participants and encouraged them to avoid littering. A street play was also organized by Rotary Club and was ected at three different locations in the township.   On  October 3 at 3:30 PM at street play would be organized by the students of the Digboi based Assam Oil College of Nursing (AOCN) at Swahid Bedi.
