tiol De-worming Day observed

Dibrugarh, Feb 12: tiol De-worming Day (NDD), launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in February, 2015 as part of the tiol Health Mission to combat worm infection in India, was observed here at Grahambazar Girls’ High School, along with the other parts of the State on Monday. The aim of the observance of the day is to de-worm all the children from 1 to 19 years in order to improve their well-being.
District Development Commissioner, Jadav Saikia while participating the programme, hoped that successful completion of DND would usher hope in transforming Dibrugarh as deworm district. Joint Director of District Health Department, Dr Udayan Kumar Baruah spoke on the various aspects of worm invasion in human body and dwelt at length about de-worming.
The programme anchored by the District Media Expert, NHM , Debanga Vikash Gogoi, was attended by Monisha Buragohain and Basanta Bordoloi of NHM.
The programme was held in all the government, government-aided private schools, Kendriya Vidyalaya and all Anganwadi centres and would cover 4. 40 lakh children and students of the district under NDD. Those who fail to attend the school programme due to uvoidable circumstances or any other reasons, will be covered on February 17, a DIPRO press communiqué stated.
