BOKO, Sept 16: Kamrup district Rabha Students’ Union, Rabha Women Council and Kamrup district Sixth Schedule Demand Committee activists took out a protest rally and blocked NH-37 for an hour in protest against the Guwahati metro expansion plan to Boko in Kamrup (Rural) district.
The protest rally started from Boko Rabha Students’ Union office to Boko Bazar and then back to the office. Hiteswar Rabha, Kamrup district Rabha Students’ Union president said, “The State Government is trying to implement Assam State Capital Region Authority Bill, 2017 where the Guwahati city will be expanded to Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council area and it will create many problems. If the Assam Government goes ahead with its plan then we will launch a vigorous agitation against the government.”
