tiol Integration Camp held in Shillong

SHILLONG, Dec 25: Trimool Congress MP Prof Saugata Roy today said that constant effort was needed to foster the spirit of integration. Prof Roy was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the tiol Integration and Youth Leadership Camp held at Laitkor on the outskirts of Shillong. The Trimool Congress MP while replying on a query whether the country’s integration was under threat, said that there was no such issues.  “But just because there is no threat, if we let it go, then maybe the integration will be damaged. So, constant effort is necessary from all quarters to foster the spirit of integration,” Prof Roy said. Earlier, speaking at the iuguration of the tiol integration camp, Prof Roy said the aim of the camp was to create a spirit of oneness among them.  “Through the camp, training in discipline will also be imparted. It will also foster a spirit of inquiry among students,” he said. Meanwhile, Assam Rifles Director General Lt. General Shokin Chauhan said through such camps, the young minds are educated to solve social issues. Over 200 students from across the country are attending the camp where stress would be laid on the development of “scientific temper” among the students. The tiol Integration and Youth Leadership Camp is being organized by the Central Calcutta Science and Culture Organisation for Youth on the occasion of the 22nd All India Student & Youth Festival. The camp is being held at the sprawling campus of the Assam Rifles, Laitkor and will conclude on December 31.
