tiol Integration Tour concludes

Dibrugarh, Jan 8: The prestigious 12-day long tiol Integration Tour (NIT) came to an end on Saturday with a flagging-in ceremony organized at harkatiya Sports Auditorium. The flagging-in ceremony was presided over by chief guest Major General Anta Bhuyan, SM, GOC Dao Division, in presence of Brig Siddharth Chawla, Commander Dao Gunners, and MLA ren Sonowal.

The tour saw the meritorious students from lesser privileged sections of Assam travel to various places of historical and cultural importance in Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Guwahati. As a part of the tour, the students met the President, Prab Mukherjee at Rashtrapathi Bhavan.

Major General Anta Bhuyan, SM, GOC Dao Division said, “My Division had made elaborate preparations for the complete journey. I am sure this tour had made a remarkable mark in the life of these students. The tour was planned in a manner to give maximum exposure to the diversity of the tion,” he said.

The grand flagging-in ceremony brought before the audience the exuberance of the youths who performed various cultural shows. The programme was supported in a huge way by the local population, approximately 6,000 people from harkatia came for the grand event. Seven meritorious students were felicitated with scholarship of Rs 21,000 each by Major General Anta Bhuyan, SM General Officer Commanding Dao Division, as part of Operation Sadbhava. A free medical camp with free medicines and check-up for 2,000 persons was organized, interaction with ESM and Sadbhava Project beneficiaries, pre-recruitment rally for 1,500 persons, equipment display of Indian Army and fincial inclusion programmes were organized on the eve of the flagging-in.
