tiol junior boxing begins in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, July 12: tiol Junior Boxing Championship got underway at the Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan indoor Stadium here today. The meet was iugurated by the Member Secretary of State Level Advisory committee for Sports and Youth Welfare Lakhya Konwar in presence of Sanjiv Gohain Baruah, Secretary (Sports, Assam Government), Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Pabitram Khound and Queen Ojha, the Vice Chairman of the Sports Authority of Assam. Altogether 350 boxers from 35 States and Sports Promotion Board are participating in the tourment. Meanwhile as per the earlier announcement Assam Amateur Boxing Association today handed over fincial assistance of Rs 25,000 to boxer Jamu Boro for her treatment purpose. Jamu recently injured her shoulder during practice.
