KALIABOR, Sept 24: A two day tiol Semir on use of technical terminology in Assamese Language was held on Friday. The semir organized by the Department of Political Science, Kaliabor College was sponsored by commission for scientific & technical terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Human Resource development, Government of India. After the felicitation of the guests and welcome address by the principal of Kaliabor College Dr. H.K. Chaliha, coorditor of the Semir Dilip Kumar Sonowal of the Political Science Department explained the purpose of the meeting. Keynote address was presented by Dr. Shahzad Ahmed Ansari, assistant scientific officer of CSTT, New Delhi.

Dr. Tahir Hussain Ansari of Assam University, Dr. Dibyajyoti Dutta of Dibrugarh University, Dr. Anushabd of Tezpur University and Dr. Dwijendra th Deka of Rangiya College were the resource persons of the technical sessions of the first day. Apart from the teachers of Kaliabor College and nearby educatiol institutions, there were participants from different colleges of Assam. All the resource persons emphasized the necessity of developing technical terminology in regiol languages including Assamese language. They urged the teachers of higher educatiol institutions to take part in this process initiated by the commission for scientific & technical terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Human Resource development, Government of India.
