tiol Technology Day observed

SIVASAGAR, May 15: With a view to create awareness among students about science and technology, Pithubar Girls’ HS School, Khowang observed tiol Technology Day with great enthusiasm recently. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of Pithubar Girls’ HS School, Mee Devi highlighted the importance of the day in the present scerio. She also drew the attention about the theme of the Technology Day, ‘Technology Eblers of Start-up India’. She told the students about Pokhran-II, Hansa-III and Trishul Missile, which India successfully test fired on May 11, 1998, and therefore the day of May 11 was chosen to be commemorated as tiol Technology Day in 1999 by the then Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Teachers of the school, Kalpa Phukan, Amal Bora, Ranjit Handique, Deven Chetia and Pullen Gogoi in their speech, explained the meaning of technology in a simple way, while a student of Class XII, Mikshee rrated in details about the day.
