tiol Unity Day observed

DIBRUGARH/UDALGURI/JOYSAGAR, Oct 31: Along with the tion, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was observed as tiol Unity Day in Dibrugarh on Tuesday. To mark the day, tiol Unity Run was organized jointly by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dibrugarh and Dibrugarh based 171 BN Central Reserve Police Force. The run has been flagged off by Commandant of 171 BN Central Reserve Police Force, Dibrugarh, PK Singh.  In his iugural speech he mentioned the contribution of Sardar Patel for independent India.

The rally started from the Deputy Commissioner’s office and passed through Tha Chariali and New Market. The rally concluded at the Dibrugarh Police Reserve Ground.  For successful completion, the rally was participated by the volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dibrugarh, Members of different youth clubs, Judokas of Dibrugarh District Judo Association, a large number of CRPF jawans and Khekato Aye, Deputy Commandat, 171 BN CRPF, Dibrugarh and Bedabrata Bhuyan, District Youth Coorditor in-charge, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dibrugarh.    

The tiol Unity Day was also observed at Harisinga HS School. The programme began with a lecture by Simson Daimary on the life and works of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and he also emphasized the importance of observing tiol Unity Day. Krish Kanta Mizar, the Vice-Principal of the school, coordited the programme.  The students performed ethnic dances of the area which reflected unity in diversity.

The Run for Unity was held in Sivasagar on Tuesday. To mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a half marathon was organized by the Sivasagar district administration and along with government employees and police personnel, many social organizations also took part in the run.
